The clear aligners process
schedule appointment
1

Start with a smile check and photos

We’ll chat about what you’re hoping to change, take a close look at your teeth and bite, and capture impressions and photos to get everything we need to start planning.

2

Review your personalized plan

Once your case is reviewed by Dr. David and our Orthobrain orthodontic partners, we’ll walk you through a custom treatment plan that’s designed just for you—no algorithms, no guesswork. You’ll get to see what kind of changes to expect and ask questions before getting started.

3

Begin your aligner journey

You’ll receive a series of clear aligners tailored to your plan. Each one gently shifts your teeth, and we’ll check in with you along the way to make sure things are moving in the right direction.

4

Keep your smile going strong

After your last aligner, we’ll provide custom retainers to help you maintain your new smile for years to come. We’ll also talk through habits and tips to protect your results long-term.

Frequently asked
questions

How long does treatment take?

It depends on your needs. Many people see great results in 6 to 18 months, and some treatments can take as little as 10 weeks. We’ll give you a realistic timeline at your consultation.

Is it hard to speak with aligners in?

Most patients adjust pretty quickly. It may feel a little different at first, but you’ll likely be speaking normally within a few days.

What if I lose an aligner?

No worries! We’ll guide you on what to do. Sometimes you can move to the next tray, or we’ll help you get a replacement.

Dr. David is very thorough and cares about his patients. I love the entire Voorhees Family Dentistry team! When you have awesome people taking care of you, doesn’t make going to the dentist so bad.

Dr. David has been my new dentist for several months now. Today was my second visit in the last few weeks to have a third cavity filled. Both visits were handled in a professional and comforting manner. He provided plenty of information during the procedure so I understood what was going on The whole time. There was very little pain afterwards. I appreciated the fact that while plan A worked, he had a Plan B ready to go. I had been a patient of Dr. Perno for years, I am glad to see the practice is in good hands.
