Extractions

Teeth need to be removed for different reasons. If it is not possible to fix a tooth that has broken, become infected, has severe gum disease or has a very extensive cavity then the tooth needs to be removed. Often times the teeth can be removed in our office; however, if the tooth is impacted or requires a complicated surgical procedure then we will refer you to an oral surgeon. We will also refer you to an oral surgeon to extract the tooth no matter what the condition if you intend to consider an implant to replace it. Extractions in our office whether simple or requiring surgery are all done painlessly with a local anesthetic. After the extraction you will be instructed on the proper home care of the area while it is healing.  If sutures are required you may have to schedule a separate appointment for suture removal unless they are the type that dissolve.
